Patrick was born in 1879, in the upper illies, Buncrana, Co. Donegal. He moved to Ballyartin with his family. Patrick never married and lived most of life in the family home in Ballyartin, with his sister Mary Jane. In the early 1970's Patrick and Mary Jane moved in with their sister Maggie in Ballyholly, due to the fact that  Pat, who was a big man, wasn't keeping too well. There was no way that Mary Jane could look after him by herself. I can always remember Pat had part of one of his ears missing, as a child we were told that he lost it in the first world war. Naturally we believed this, however I still don't know what happened his ear. Pat died on the 30th of November 1975, aged 96. Pat is buried in Claudy alongside his brothers Henry and Johnny.
