Daniel McFeely was born in 1835 in Ballyholly, Claudy, Derry, Northern Ireland. A farmer and publican to trade he married Isobel O'Connor from Drumsurn on 23rd January 1883(see copy of Wedding Certificate below), at Drumsurn Catholic Church. Daniel built the 'lower House' in 1860s. This became McFeely's Bar and unfortunately was torn down in 1964 (aprox) in order to build a road connecting Ballyholly with the main Dungiven to Derry road.

Daniel died on the 22nd of November 1915 aged 80 and is buried in the family plot in Claudy.

This is the last Will and Testament of me Daniel McFeely of Ballyholly in the County of Londonderry, Merchant and farmer. I herby revoke all former Wills made by me. I appoint as my executor my brother in-law James O'Connor of Drumsurn and my son in-law James Heaney of Limivady. I leave, direct and bequeath to my wife Isabella McFeely for the term of her natural life or so long as she remains my widow, my farms in Ballyholly (with business premises attached) and Muldonagh with the stock, crop and chattels thereon together with all other property of whatsoever nature or kind I may die possessed of, and after the death or second marriage of my said wife then as to my said farm in Ballyholly I leave and direct the same (with the exception of the dwelling house with the business premises attached where I now reside and the meadows, garden and in the Claggon Brae adjoining same) to my son John Joseph subject to the provisions hereinafter contained and as to my said dwelling house with business premises attached shop fittings and utensils, stock in trade and goodwill of business together with the meadow garden and garden in Claggon brae adjoining same I leave and direct the same to my son Daniel and I direct that any changes then existing on my said lands of Ballyholly shall be borne in equal proportions by my said two sons and that the annuity to the land Commission and taxes payable there out shall also be borne and payable by my said two sons in equal shares and I also direct that my son John Joseph shall have a right of way for carts down through Claggon brae to the boundary I saw as I ???? to use same and as to my farm in Muldonagh I leave and direct the same to my son Daniel subject as hereinafter mentioned and as to all the stock crop implements and chattels on and about my said two farms at the date of my wife's death or second marriage I direct the same to be equally divided between my said two sons. I also leave and bequeath to my son Thomas the sum of two hundred pounds should he remain with his mother on my said farms and assist in the management there of for a period of five years after my death or until the death of my wife which ever shall first happen, but if not then I leave the sum of fifty pounds only. I also leave and bequeath to my son William the sum of fifty pounds and to my daughter Mary Heaney, the sum of fifty pounds I further will and direct that my wife may if she shall think fit in her absolute discretion, pay out of my estate any of the aforesaid legacies to any of the aforesaid legatees on his or her coming of age, but if the same or any portion of them or any of them shall not be paid at the date of my wife's death or second marriage, then I direct same to be charged upon and to be payable out of my said lands at Ballyholly and Muldonagh by my said sons John Joseph and Daniel in equal shares and proportions. In witness whereof, I have here unto set my hand this twenty first day of January one thousand nineteen hundred and fourteen.
